Inventick · independent product lab · Surat, India

Software,
invented
in the open.

Inventick is where Hussain C builds his own products: small SaaS tools, browser extensions and apps, each run as a mission with a public status and a dated log. One is in build, two are classified, and the bay at the end is empty on purpose.

What's on the bench

Each product is a mission with a code, a stage and a log. Live ones get a dossier. The rest stay sealed until they've earned a name in public.

stage SIGNAL

A small tool for working teams. Brief written, nothing built yet.

// 02Pipeline

How a mission runs

Five stages, each with a gate. Most ideas should stop at the second one, and that's the system working.

  1. SIGNAL

    An itch worth writing down

Something I've hit myself, or heard from three different people in the same month.

gate: A one-page brief. If it needs two pages, it's two ideas.

    ◆ 1 classified
  2. PROTOTYPE

    Clickable in days

A rough version in front of people who have the problem, before any real backend.

gate: Ten people using it every week, or it gets switched off.

    ◆ 1 classified
  3. BUILDING

    One slice at a time

Phases that each work end to end, with tests, QA and a written log at the close.

gate: Every phase ships something a user can touch.

    ◆ Altrun is here
  4. LAUNCHED

    Public and priced

Monitoring on, billing on, a real support address that a person reads.

gate: People pay, or come back weekly without being asked.

  5. GROWING | SUNSET

More time, or an honest ending

Growing missions get more of the week. Sunset missions get a write-up, and users get their data back.

gate: Either way, the log says why.

Standing orders

The rules every mission is held to. They're short so they can't be argued around.

  1. DIR-01

    Small surface

A product does one job and stays out of the way. Altrun is a side panel and five pages on purpose.

  2. DIR-02

    Prove it

Every claim on a mission page has the number behind it. If there's no number yet, the claim waits.

  3. DIR-03

    No platform abuse

No bots posting on your behalf, no scraping you didn't ask for, no tricks at checkout.

  4. DIR-04

    Own the stack

Plain code on infrastructure that can move. Nothing critical rented from a tool that might vanish next year.

  5. DIR-05

    Kill fast, write it up

Most ideas should die at prototype. When one does, it gets a log entry explaining what went wrong.

  6. DIR-06

    Build in the open

Dates, phases and mistakes go in the log when they happen, not in a launch post months later.

  1. lab

    inventick.com goes on the record

The lab gets a public home: a mission board, this log and a list for anyone who wants to hear when something ships. Built on the same stack as the products.

  2. altrun

Altrun phase 3 starts: the library

Drafts now keep versions. A focus editor autosaves and lets you step back through history. Ideas and batches have tables in the database.

  3. altrun

    Altrun phase 2 closed: voices

Voices can be built from a LinkedIn export or a list of links, with traits you can edit. The extension gained a comment helper and one-click insert into the composer.

  4. altrun

The Chrome extension writes from a highlight

Select text on any page and the side panel turns it into a post. Comment suggestions that sound machine-made are filtered out before you see them.

  5. altrun

Altrun web app: sign in, streamed drafts

Accounts, a dashboard and drafts that stream in as they're written. Each user's voices, history and usage are scoped to them in the database.

Araneux Systems

I've spent 18 years building software for other people, and I still do that at Araneux Systems. Inventick is the other half: things I want to exist, built on my own clock and paid for by nobody's deadline.

Some of these will work. Most won't. The pipeline above is how I decide, and the log is where you can check whether I followed it.
