Altrun
Select text on any page, pick a voice, and get a post that sounds like you wrote it.
Altrun is a Chrome extension and web app for solo creators and founders. Highlight text on any web page, pick a platform and one of your captured voices, and it drafts a post that sounds like you. Every draft shows a voice-match score and flags phrases that read as machine-written. It is in private build.
The problem
Why it exists
Writing tools start you at a blank box, in a different tab from the thing you were reading. Most of them promise to sound like you. None of them show you how close they got.
Built for: Solo creators and founders who post on LinkedIn, X, Threads or Substack.
- clicks from a highlight to your first drafts

Design targets, not results. Results go in the log.
Steps
How Altrun works
Select
Highlight a paragraph, a post or a whole thread on any page.
Pick
Choose where it's going and which of your voices should write it.
Compare
Two or three labelled drafts stream in, each with a voice-match score.
Fix and insert
Flagged phrases come with a reason and a fix. One click puts the post in the composer.
Guardrails
The rules it ships with
- No bots on any network. It reads only what you select, and nothing is posted until you approve it.
- Voices come from posts you paste or export yourself, never from a background crawl.
- A side panel and five web pages. No lead databases, no outreach sequences.
- Choices over re-rolls: every request returns two or three drafts to pick from.

What's happened so far
- Altrun
Altrun phase 3 starts: the library
Drafts now keep versions. A focus editor autosaves and lets you step back through history. Ideas and batches have tables in the database.
- Altrun
Altrun phase 2 closed: voices
Voices can be built from a LinkedIn export or a list of links, with traits you can edit. The extension gained a comment helper and one-click insert into the composer.
- Altrun
The Chrome extension writes from a highlight
Select text on any page and the side panel turns it into a post. Comment suggestions that sound machine-made are filtered out before you see them.
- Altrun
Altrun web app: sign in, streamed drafts
Accounts, a dashboard and drafts that stream in as they're written. Each user's voices, history and usage are scoped to them in the database.
- Altrun
Generation engine ported and tested
Providers, prompts and platform rules moved into one tested package, with an audit stage that points at the phrases that give a draft away.
- Altrun
Altrun roadmap approved
Eight phases, each a working slice on web and extension together. Foundations and the design system closed the same day.
